Title: Experiential computing mac style
Macintosh computers have been around for a while, but the current educational
climate tends towards the windows based computers. Because of this
bias we need to
become more familiar with the tools we will be using in this course. When we
figure out how to do something on our own, we tend to learn it better. I call this experiential
learning - learning through experimentation. Your account on these macs are pretty flexible
and can handle just about anything you can throw at it. Ok, here's the bottom line - you need to create
the following:
A website with:
- more than two pages
-
a picture of you that has been altered somehow
- your name in an interesting font
- a picture of you, but altered somehow
- countdown to your birthday
- map to the school
- youtube clip
- recording of your own voice - think podcast
- a presentation file (think powerpoint, but not) that has:
- more than one slide
- a chart of some kind
- a picture of you
- use a transition
- a video of yourself
- two headlines and links to newspaper sites
- link to an interesting website
You: But mr. Kools, we don't know how to use these programs, or how to use a mac!
Mr. Kools: look more closely at the flowchart.....
